News: American University Graduation!

emicacci

Hi everyone, Evelyn here!

On May 11th, 2024, I graduated summa cum laude from American University with a BA in Musical Theater. I could not be more grateful for the time I spent at AU and with the Department of Performing Arts. I had many valuable experiences and learned so much about what it means to be an actor, the responsibility we hold as theater artists in today's climate, and how to create art that is deep and meaningful not only to the audience, but to myself as well. This was a very long and hard journey, and there are so many people I would like to thank:

Thank you to my parents, Jennifer and Vincent Micacci, as well as my grandfather Anthony Micacci and godmother Rosemarie Fischer, for helping me navigate the finances associated with my studies and supporting me in my choice of major.

Thank you to my love, Ross Bollinger, for being my rock. Thank you for being a shoulder to cry on and my biggest cheerleader. I love you so much. <3

Thank you to my Greater Hartford Academy of The Arts teachers, for without you and your immense love and support I would not be here today.

Thank you to my American University professors and directors, for working with me and teaching me countless valuable lessons. Your guidance fills me with confidence and has made me more ready to enter the professional scene post-graduation.

Thank you to the AU DPA for allowing me to grow on your stages. I will never forget the loving and supporting environment each and every cast took care to create in the room. It was the greatest space to learn in and I could not be more grateful.

Thank you to my voice teacher, Katherine Riddle, for your wisdom and kindness. You've helped me grow so much and have gotten me through countless moments of doubt and confusion. Without your guidance, I would not be the performer I am today.

Thank you to Susan Derry and Paige Rammelkamp, for your involvement in two of my biggest and most special projects at AU, Let Loose and My Journey, "Her" Stories. It is always a joy to work with all of you. Thank you for all of the support you've lent me, it means the world.

Thank you to my Theater/Musical Theater c/o 2024 classmates, you all are amazing and I'm so glad I got to spend my college experience with all of you. I know we are all going to do big things!

As for me, I will be staying in the DMV area post-graduation and am actively seeking out theatrical opportunities. I can't wait to start working outside of an educational setting and continue my career as an actor, singer, dancer, and life-long learner.

Once again, thank you AU for all of the memories, and now it's time to start a new adventure.
